A headband I made for my niece a few years ago…the rose is from a pattern by Mary Konior (LOVE her patterns, so easy to follow!) The leaves are just a basic tatted doodle.

Pipe cleaners, tatted butterflies, beads, and ribbons – I ended up making 3 of these for a friend’s daughters. Not too much tatting I can do for The Boy, so it’s fun to make delicate girly things sometimes!

Betties Ribbon

Named after my mother-in-law, who so far is winning her fight with breast cancer. More of a doodle in tatting than a pattern…if I were to do it again, I’d probably tat a simpler flower. I really just wanted to experiment with roll tatting when I made this!

S/R 3p3p3/3p3p3 S/R 3j3p3/3j3p3 for as many repeats as you’d like.
The outside trim is node stitch – one set of 4/4, slide a bead on, lock join to a picot, repeat.

The leaves are node stitch, 10 sets of 4 per leaf, then tacked onto the ribbon where it crosses.

The flower is roll tatting – 5 large SCMR of 1 ds, then about 40 rolls, 1 ds, close. There are 4 small SCMR of 1 ds, about 20 rolls, 1ds, close.

I tacked the large petals open, and tacked the small petals folded to form a flower center – it’s very free-form, and open to individual interpretation.

The model was tatted in size 30 DMC Cebelia for the ribbon and flower, and the leaves are size 50 Flora.

One in a series of snowflakes I’ve designed – although I have yet to tat any for my own tree! When I do find time to make these, they generally go out the door as gifts.

Immortal Butterfly

Based on my Immortal Heart…I added beads (lots of them!) and joined two hearts to make a butterfly for an online friend.

No actual PDF for this one yet, just a poorly done visual pattern. Yes, it’s on my list to be updated! .

This was the very first tatting pattern I ever designed…and the name is derived from my exclamation of “I produced a tatting pattern! I’m immortal now!” Yes, it did seem a very big accomplishment at the time, and I confess I’m still proud of it

Cruciform

I’m slowly working on putting up patterns for a new series of crosses I’ve designed…it’s taken me a while, as I somehow volunteered to tat 80 of them for Mother’s Day a few years ago. Frankly, it’s taken me this long to want to look at another tatted cross!

Anyway, this one is called, originally enough, Cruciform.

Collossians Cross

This is one of my favorite scriptures.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;” Col. 2:14

The fact that Christ took upon Himself the document that contained my death penalty (the penalty that we are all born to) and nailed it to His cross, thereby blotting it out with His own blood…it is almost beyond human comprehension.

This is the scripture I meditated on as I designed this pattern.
